BHER consulted over 600 workplace supervisors, business and community leaders, and academic professionals about WIL. We heard that providing strong mentorship was a critical need but also a significant barrier to creating new WIL placements or taking on more WIL students. The impacts of COVID-19 and remote placements only exacerbated the challenges.
To help, BHER created resources to support the development of mentorship skills in virtual settings. Our 6-part video series below includes virtual interviews with post-secondary students, workplace supervisors, employers, and experts in mentorship. These videos cover topics ranging from the benefits of mentorship to its role in career development in a post COVID-19 world.
