Western University has joined the Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER), effective immediately.

“BHER and Western University share the belief that student success is not limited to academic excellence, but extends into the world of work,”  said Alan Shepard, President and Vice-Chancellor of Western University. “We look forward to working with BHER members to best prepare Canada’s students - and businesses - for the challenges of the future.”

With more than 400 undergraduate programs and 88 graduate programs, Western students from across the country and around the world learn from renowned professors and researchers. Western prides itself on providing the best student experience possible, both inside and outside the classroom.

Through Western Entrepreneurship, students have access to co-working spaces and expert mentors who help them develop ideas, create prototypes, and launch products. Western University and Linamar Corporation, another of BHER’s member organizations, also offer the Linamar Scholarship for Women in Engineering and Business. The scholarship, geared at boosting the number of women working in STEM fields, guarantees recipients a summer co-op placement as well as guaranteed employment with Linamar after graduation.

“I’m delighted to welcome Western into membership,” said Dr. Valerie Walker, BHER’s CEO. “Western brings a strong legacy of student leadership, research innovation and academic excellence to BHER’s work.”
