The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is a province-wide training and education system housed at 14 campuses, through which they provide Nova Scotians with inclusive and flexible access to education and specialized, industry-driven training essential for the workforce.
NSCC has partnered with EnPoint, Dalhousie University, and other post-secondary institutions across Nova Scotia to support initiatives that ensure international students are ready to work in Nova Scotia after graduation. BHER’s support will allow NSCC to create new opportunities for international students to connect and work with potential employers in a meaningful and impactful way through 600 scaffolded WIL experiences.
NSCC will offer pre-WIL training to prepare students for the International Student Showcase case competition and employer information sessions, which will allow students to put their skills and competencies into practice. Another WIL stream, Pathway to Stay, will take the form of bootcamps where students participate in interactive employer-led panels and activities to rehearse pitches, discuss professionalism, and practice their networking and presentation skills.
