This program provides First Nations and Inuit businesses with financial support to create internships for youth.
Canada Summer Jobs offers wage subsidies to employers from not for profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees. Not-for-profit employers are eligible to receive funding for up to 100% of the provincial/territorial minimum hourly wage. Public and private sector employers eligible to receive funding for up to 50%.
Career focus provides funding for employers and organization to design and deliver a range of activities that enable youth to make more informed career decision. Financial assistance may be provided to cover a maximum of 80% of costs associated with operating and delivering approved activities. Proposed projects must involve a minimum of eight youth participants.
This program offers wage subsidies to private sector and non-profit employers to hire First Nations and Inuit youth.
The employer is eligible for a maximum claim of $2,000 per year for each apprentice if they hire an eligible apprentice.
The Magnet Student Work Placement Program provides employers with wage subsidies up to $7,500 to hire post-secondary students.
Educational Services
The ARD grant is provided for college researchers with their private-sector partners. Direct project costs are shared by company partners as well as the College and Community Innovation Program. Projects range from one to three years.
Manufacturing
Innovation and Employers Engagement in Apprenticeship is a federal pilot program available to help address the skilled labour shortages in trade professions by engaging underrepresented groups. This includes providing placements for women, Indigenous people and/or at-risk youth.
Mining, Quarrying and Oil and Gas Extraction
The Gearing Up program is looking to create more opportunities in mining. Wage subsidies up to $7500 are available to employers to create new WIL opportunities.

Internship Program/Science and Technology Internship Program
The Student Work Placement Program offers up to $7,500 in coop wage subsidies to bio-economy employers to hire students in STEM and business programs.
The Science Horizons Youth Internship Program offers up to $25,000 in wage subsidies to help employers gain access to funds to hire scientific and technical staff with less financial risk, grow their business, access a pool of workers, and develop new talent.
The Science and Technology Internship Program covers up to 80% of a new hire’s salary in the natural resources sector linked to the green economy.
Employers can receive wage subsidy of up to $7500 per placement.
Employers will receive up to 75% of a student's wages to $7,500 when they hire someone in Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Math, and Business (STEAM).
The Empowering Futures Program provides employers with subsidies of up to $7,500 if they hire a student in the electricity industry.
This program helps organizations create green jobs and provides up to 70% of wage subsidies for STEM graduates.
This program helps organizations create digital/IT related jobs. It provides employers with wage subsidies to help with administrative tasks and training.
This program provides wage subsidies to eligible employers across Canada to hire and mentor youth in the natural resources sector, including in energy, forestry, mining, earth science, and clean technology.
As of April 1st, 2022 ICTC can provide eligible employers with a wage subsidy of up to $7,000 per student. The employer must provide a meaningful work placement opportunity that helps to develop foundational and technical skills required by employers to be successful in Canada’s digital economy
Employers must provide a meaningful work opportunity, where the student will be immersed in technology and in a manner that is relevant to their field of study. The Career Ready program provides wage subsidies of up to 50% per student and up to 70% if the student falls within an underrepresented group.
The Industrial Research Assistance Program Youth Employment Program helps employers create business or technology jobs for high skilled youth. The federal government provides a part of wage-related costs so employers can hire youth in innovationrelated projects. The internship lasts six to 12 months.

The STAR program targets groups that face barriers entering the trades such as youth, women, Indigenous people, newcomers, persons with disabilities and visible minorities.
Available to all industries
Employers submit a job posting on Venture’s website and are matched with eligible students. Once a student is selected, Venture will fund up to $7,500 in wage subsidies for eligible internships.
Professional, Scientific & Technical Services
Businesses in Canada developing a research project are eligible for a $15,000 research award if they contribute $7,500 per four to six-month unit.
